An improperly installed AHU will vibrate itself to death or leak condensation through the ceiling. Proper Air Handling Unit installation requires strict mechanical compliance:
- Vibration Isolation Mounting: AHUs must be mounted on calculated spring isolators or anti-vibration rubber pads to prevent harmonic frequencies from transferring into the building’s structural columns.
- U-Trap Condensate Drainage: Because the blower creates a negative pressure inside the cabinet, the drain line must have a specifically calculated U-trap. Without it, the vacuum will hold the water inside the pan until it overflows.

Threat 3: Coil Freezing
Action: Caused by starved airflow. The pre-filters are likely 100% choked, or the 2-way/3-way modulating chilled water valve has failed in the fully open position. Immediate chemical coil washing and filter replacement are mandatory.
